Brewing news Malaysia: Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia reports 25.3% increase in net profit last year

Carlsberg Brewery Malaysia Bhd registered a net profit of RM277 million for 2018, a 25.3% increase compared with 2017, its managing director Lars Lehmann said during a media briefing on February 14.

Revenue grew by 14.6% to RM1.98 billion in comparison with 2017.

Earning per share was 90.65 sen compared with 72.34 a year ago.

The company has declared a fourth quarter single tier interim dividend of 16.6 sen. It also announced a final single tier dividend of 22.4 sen and a special dividend of 9.3 sen.

For 2018, the company’s total dividend was 100 sen, which represents a payout of 110.3% from the company.

This is in line with the company’s dividend policy to declare interim dividends on a quarterly basis.

“We are proud to deliver strong growth in our top and bottom line every quarter in 2018 which enabled us to pay out a record 100 sen per share to our shareholders,” said Lehmann.

Lehmann also said rising prices of raw and packaging materials would have a negative impact on its production costs. He added that the company would focus its resources on product innovation.
